Week 26

It is not often I get to mow the lawn right after it has been mowed by someone else. Darien afforded me the opportunity this week, however, bless her heart. Actually, she didn't quite get the whole thing mowed. When I came home from work, there was still a large patch of lawn left to go. She said the mower kept cutting out on her. She also admitted she changed the settings to cut lower, thinking that this would prevent her from mowing so frequently. Hmmmm. I had a sneaking suspicion, so I turned the mower over and discovered that it was completely caked with clippings, causing the blade to freeze. I also noticed that the wheels had been adjusted differently, causing the mower to tilt forward. The result? Well, let's just say I have taken to calling her The Butcher of Gotham Road. Re-mowing set things right.

And the counter? Now that's what I'm talking about!

Week 25

I wanted to be certain that I had something to post this week. When Darien suggested that we go out to dinner, I insisted that we go to someplace we hadn't been before. Bad mistake. We selected Maldini's. It was nice enough, and the deep dish pizza with fresh veggies wasn't bad, but the service was very slow. Not providing Darien with a constant intake of food is like hiding drugs from a junkie. Desperation soon sets in. At least I got out of it something to write about.

At 1 AM, I was asked if I could wait until the morning to take my picture. Sorry, babe. Deadline is midnight.

Week 24

I was mistaken for Lou Reed. Vicious!

In defiance of the laws of gravity, what goes up keeps going up.

Week 23

I attended the Homegrown event at St. James for the first time. To be honest, if the Speckled Bird had not been playing, I probably wouldn't have gone. I'm glad I did, however. In some ways, I thought this was their best show to date. They are becoming very polished. I can't wait until Josh gets his hand back.

Maybe when school is out it will get better.
